_{This club is for all you Captain Harlock nostalgics who wish to join your favorite Space Pirate's eternal crew of the Arcadia. You can use this club to meet other fans, see their work, and post your own. This is the perfect occasion to get your art known to other Harlock connoisseurs!}

JOINING

FIRST READ, WE'RE RATHER ORIGINAL IN THE JOINING RULES:

_{To join, please send a note to the club by clicking on "send a note" on the top right corner of the page. The subject of the note should be "joining the Arcadia" where you'll ask for a request to join and then tell us which of the series is your favorite so we may add it on the list. You will then be added to the memberlist, and AHOI! You'll be part of Captain Harlock's ship! When that is done, be sure to add us on your 'watch' list, and to help us, slap the club's lovely icon onto your journal so your friends and friend's friends come and join us.}

SUBMITTING WORK

_{To submit work, simply send a note to the club with a link to your deviation and your icon, so we can identify you easier. Of course, it has to be Captain Harlock-related!}

CONTEST

It's here, the international day of love and what better way to celebrate with than with a contest! The theme is, of course, a couple-related contest but with a twist! Make a fanart, or anything that you decide, of a couple from the Leiji-verse. You can even pair up characters from different series as long as it's from the Leiji-verse.

Rules:

-You have to be a member in order to join.
-Keep it PG-13
-There has to be a minimum of 7 participants in order for this contest to continue.
-Yaoi/Yuri a la extreme is not accepted
-Maximum submissions: 3
- No hentai/porn
- No fan-fictions
-Know that if two of your fanarts ended up first place and second place, your secondplace entry shall be eliminated, making sure other members win.
-volunteer artists and admins can participate in the contest since it's the members who will vote.
-If you wish to participate, please comment on the journal and when you are done, leave a link bellow.

<sub>Harlock was originally created by Leiji Matsumoto since he was a child as his rolemodel. He invented the name "Harroku" but when a car accident left a german, who apparently had the same last name, dead in Japan a few years later, Matsumoto found out Harlock was an actual last name from Anglo-Saxon origin. When he grew up and became an artist, he drew Captain Harlock in several mangas until making his debut as a cameo apperance in Adventure of a Honeybee (1953). In March 14 1978, celebrating 30 years today, Captain Harlock recieved his own anime called Space Pirate Captain Harlock, becoming an instant hit through the end of the series on Febuary 13 1979. Since then, several mini-series, movies and anime (Not relating to the series before) has been appearing in anime as well as in several parodies and Rock n Roll bands. "Until I die," Leiji Matsumoto said in an interview, "Harlock will keep appearing and he will never die."

1) One of our members, ~genredleader kindly noted us and informed us that the original Space Pirate Captain Harlock and Galaxy Express 999 has been legally subbed and unedited for your entertainment. ~genredleader states that "Crunchyroll, a website that used to deal in fansub has been trying to go on the straight and narrow lately, making contracts with Japanese rights holders to legally show anime and in some cases even simulcasting with the original Japanese broadcasts. Well, they just cut a deal with Toei Animation and as part of that deal, they are now broadcasting, for the first time in English and completely unedited, the original Captain Harlock and Galaxy Express 999!" Now, members who haven't enjoyed the series to its full extend or haven't seen any of these series, can now watch them on Crunchyroll.com

2) One of our crew members, ~Bispro, once created a French-language website called Arcadia 2000, which kind of became a reference at some point, but since it was lots of work to do on his own, he gave it up and stopped updating it.
